Laboratory guys from Satya Nadella’s company, Microsoft Garage, continue to play with the recognition of images.
After throwing tools like How Old (to guess age through a photo) or twinsornot (to compare two images of two people and set their similarity of similar), they have now created an application that is capable of identifying a dog’s breed alone with a photo of him.
The technology is available using two ways, a website called what-dog.net or an iPhone app called Fetch! The latter allows you to upload images of our pet from the gallery of our smartphone or through your camera. Once the snapshot is processed, look for the right race and offers us information about it.
“There was an interest in creating a framework that enabled take a domain – in this case, dogs – and recognize different classes, like races. We were interested in developing an app that would allow the recognition of extraordinary, fun and surprising objects, “says Mitch Goldberg, Development Director at Microsoft Research and by the Cambridge team that has developed the product. “We wanted to bring artificial intelligence to the canine world. We wanted to show that the recognition of objects is something that anyone can understand and what they can interact, “he adds.
The APP is served from the Machine Learning or Automatic Learning. That is, it is working better and providing more accurate results as you most use and more photos process.
The tool not only allows us to upload photos of our Can, but also own selfies or friends. This functionality, created only to put a laugh, tells us what the race with which we have more physical.
“This is the APP class that you are going to open when you are with your friends. You will have fun by comparing what kind of dog you resemble and posting the results, “explains Fetch’s description!
