Is your pet alone at home? With Spotify you can create a music list for her.

According to Spotify, it developed these playlists after conducting a study, which concluded that 71% of pet owners play music for them. “We found that 71% of the owners surveyed play music for pets, and think about their emotional well-being,” the company said in a statement.

Spotify has a global aspiration to become the musical reference of connected users. Currently you can have your personalized playlists, have any music file offline on your mobile or that the application knows them so well as to recommend new groups daily.

However, the platform now wants to go a step further after landing with podcasts a few months ago: conquer pets. Surprising as it may sound, the Danish music app has launched Spotify for pets, a musical drift designed for love and animal to listen to different songs together.

But what is really a Spotify for pets?

First, we will have to choose which pet we have, because Spotify explains that the musical selection will be substantially different depending on the animal that we have as a companion. We can choose between dog, cat, bird, iguana or hamster.

Then you must choose what type of music our animal companion will have. Once we select the personality of our pet, you have to make a profile of it. After this, the profile of our dog, cat, hamster, iguana or bird will be linked to our personal profile. In this way, it will begin to recommend music with which they are related.

Does it really work?

Spotify explains that “while music for pets is not an exact science, we consulted with experts in the pet industry to get the best approximation of what might work best for our animals,” thus the music recommended by the platform conforms to the supposed personality of the animal.

The created list is made using an algorithmic system based on the listening habits and attributes of your pet, so “it is music that both can enjoy.”

Regarding the data and the link with the profile of the main user, Spotify has explained that they only use “the information you provide us to create your pet playlist. The information is not stored and is not used for any other purpose” .
